I do love  a bit of highlighter. It’s definitely my favourite cosmetics product in my makeup bag and if I could, I would only ever wear highlighter on my skin. I just love the healthy glow it gives when applied properly.

As I’ve explained in my previous post on perfecting the strobing technique, highlighter should be applied to the raised parts of your face, including your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, the arches of your brows and the centre of your cupid’s bow, for maximum highlighting effect. Lately, I’ve been sampling the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder series and I must say, the entire range makes for effective highlighting.

Each of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed powders are highly pigmented, finely milled illuminating powders that adjust to the skin’s natural undertones when applied. They’re subtle and have the ability to give your skin an elegant, illuminating glow that makes you look like you’ve been lit up from the inside. I really do believe in this product.

As well as applying these highlighters to the raised points of the face, I use them as eyeshadows, applying a small amount to the inner corner of the eyes to really make the eye colour pop! To apply the product as a highlighter, I suggest using a wispy brush that isn’t too densely packed and gently brush the product across the raised areas of your face, layering up as and when needed. A little goes a long way with this highlighter as it is very pigmented, so try not to overload your brush with it.

I personally own three colours in the range, Pearl, Opal and Moonstone, all of which have been incredibly versatile, suiting a range of skin tones. There are currently six shades available: Rose Gold, Pearl, Moonstone, Opal, Topaz and Champagne Gold, which should give you enough of a range to sample and fall in love with.
