Matching lipstick and eyeshadow makeup tutorial

Matching eyeshadow and lipstick pic  Matching eyeshadow and lipstick pic 2

Of all the makeup techniques and styles that I’ve learnt over the years, I’d have to say my favourite way to wear makeup is to match my lipstick to my eyeshadow. The great thing about matching your eyes to your lips, is the sheer number of variations you can play around with. Read on for a simple, yet useful tutorial on how to match your lipstick to your eyeshadow.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser

Liz Earle Skin Concentrate Oil (optional)

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation

(or)

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

Rae Morris Radiance Brush

Beauty Blender

Mac  Select Moisture Cover Concealer

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

NYX Nude Matte Shadown – Skinny Dip

ABH Liquid lipstick – Sad Girl

Here’s how to achieve it:

You’ll want to start off by moisturising your skin well. As you probably know by now, I’m a huge fan of Liz Earle’s Skin Repair Moisturiser for normal to combination skin. For extra hydration and luminosity, I use a dab of Liz Earle’s Skin Concentrate Oil as it gives my skin just enough moisturise for a natural glow.

As a skin base, I would use the Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation, or Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation. Apply your foundation with a foundation brush, such as the Rae Morris Radiance Brush and blend in well with a Beauty Blender.

Conceal and dark spots and blemishes with Mac’s  Select Moisture Cover Concealer and blend in well with your Beauty Blender.

Moving on to the brows, fill these in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, which you can find a review of here. I would then sweep over a slight dusting of translucent powder to set your concealer before moving on to your eyes.

I would recommend using the NYX Nude Matte shadows as they’re available at Boots and won’t break the bank if you’re on a budget. From the NYX Nude Matte shadows, take the colour Skinny Dip, apply and blend over the eye lid and crease, but not too high up. You can also go ahead and apply the same colour underneath your bottom lash line to make your eyes pop. This purple-dark brown eyeshadow can be used on all eye colours, but will particularly compliment green eyes.

Apply your eyeliner, whether you choose liquid or pencil, and a volumising mascara. Eyes done.

I’m currently obsessing over the Anastasia beverly Hills Liquid lipsticks and have collected a few shades, but the Sad Girl is my personal favourite. Line your lips with the lip liner that comes in the kit, then apply your lipstick.

Look done! Very simple, quick and with no added fuss.
