Non-touring ins and outs:
Move over contouring and make way for this season’s hottest beauty trend: non-touring. Unlike contouring, which can be quite heavy on the face, non-touring is a light and low-maintenance makeup trend that’s the perfect solution to makeup application for hot and humid summer days. Non-touring leaves your skin feeling fresh and looking dewy instead of caked up and that’s why I’m loving it at the moment!
But what exactly is non-touring and how does it work? Non-touring focuses on highlighting facial features with light strobing in order to make the skin appear fresh and healthy. Successful non-touring basically looks like no-makeup makeup, so the trick is to accentuate your best features without looking like you’ve applied anything to your face.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Here’s how to do it:
- To non-tour your face, start off with clean and well moisturised skin. Prime the skin by apply a primer, such as the Japonesque Liquid Radiance Primer.
- Instead of moving on to your regular foundation application, opt for a tinted moisturiser instead as this will help to set off a more dewy complexion. My favourite tinted moisturiser at the moment is Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturiser, which has the added benefit of built in SPF.
- Next you want to highlight your raised facial features as highlighting is what really makes this look. You want to keep your non-touring as dewy and light as possible, so opt for a cream highlighter, such as the Benefit’s Watts Up highlighter. Gently strobe the highest points of your face, including your cheekbones, forehead, the centre of your nose and your cupid’s bow for maximum strobing effect.
Set your look with a sprits of Mac Fix +.
