Ever wondered what’s inside a professional makeup artist’s makeup bag? Wonder no more as I share with you my current favourite cosmetic products for May.
Moisturising is the key
I always carry a small bottle of moisturiser with me, because you never know when you’ll need a top up! I’m currently raving about Liz Earle products and keep a bottle of Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser with me at all times. The Superskin Moisturiser by Liz Earle is an ultra-rich daytime moisturiser, which is specifically designed for dry and sensitive skin types. I love its fragrance-free formula, which is gentle on my skin while providing intense moisture.
Keep it concealed
Concealer would have to come second in my most frequently used cosmetic products and I keep a small tube of Clarins Instant Concealer to hand at all times. This liquid formula concealer never lets me down when it comes to covering up dark under eye circles. Its lightweight formula provides impressive all-day coverage and I love how it just smoothes on and easily blends onto my skin. An all round winner.
Perfect powder finish
A compact powder is always a good thing to carry around with you and my current favourite happens to be Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in shade 2. This silky smooth finish power blurs lines, softens my appearance and gives me a an airbrushed finish without looking heavy or caked on.
Pump up the lash volume
Mascara is a key product I use on a daily basis, whether I’m dolling myself up for a night out, or keeping it natural during the day. I’m a big fan of Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara, which acts like a teeny-tiny hair roller, leaving my lashes looking super long and curled with minimal application. I do love the way this mascara gives me instantly bigger and bolder lashes.
Best blush buddy
A long-standing favourite product of mine is Mac’s Powder Blush in Margin, which you can read about in my previous post, where I review this dream come true blusher.
Day to night lips
As well as the essentials, I always carry a lipliner and lipstick around with me, especially if I’m heading out for post-work drinks. I’m a serious believer in nudes, especially for the Summer, and am currently using a lipstick by my favourite cosmetic brand, Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Liquid Lipstick in Dolce. I love the matte finish and how long-lasting this liquid lipstick is. It can be a bit drying, so I’d suggest moisturising your lips well before use with a simple lip balm, from a popular brand, such as Nivea.
Everyday essentials
Last but not least, I always carry a compact mirror and a blending sponge with me because you never know when you’ll need to touch-up your makeup when you’re out and about!
