The wonderful thing about eye makeup is the sheer number of variations, styles and colours that are out there for you to play around with. Personally, I’m a huge fan of a sultry soft cut crease look, especially to sport at sophisticated events. Here’s a quick and easy, step by step tutorial that will have you nailing the soft cut crease eye makeup look every time.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
Too Faced Natural Mattes eyeshadow palette
An angled blending brush – Sigma E70
A pencil brush – Sigma E44
Liquid eyeliner
Mascara
Mac Prep+Prime Fix +
Here’s how to do it:
Start off by creating a base with Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ochre, sweeping it across the eyelids and blending it in well with clean finger tips.
Take your Too Faced Natural Matte eyeshadow palette and an angled brush, sweep colour Heaven across your brow bone where it arches and blend in well.

Next, take Honey Butter from your palette along with your pencil brush and sketch a half-moon shape just above the natural crease in your eyelids, this is where the term soft cut crease comes from. Start at the inner corner of your eyelid and sweep the colour across using a windshield wiper motion to sketch out your half-moon shape. As you reach the outer corner of your eye, raise your sketched line ever so slightly to add a wing. Blend, blend, blend!
Take your next colour, Strapless, and follow the line you just created in your eye crease, only slightly inside the line and gently blend.
Apply Risqué inside the crease line and blend in well, so that all three colours spill over into each other in a nice blended gradient. You’ll need to blend with a small and precise blending brush to get a good finish.

Once you’re done blending, go back to your palette and using the colour Heaven, apply eyeshadow to the rest of your eyelid. Pat your colour on slowly and apply a few layers to even it out well.

Finish your look off with a winged liner, which you can learn to do by following my quick and easy steps to achieving the perfect winged liner, and plenty of volumising mascara.
To set your look and keep it in place, spritz your eyes with Mac Prep+Prime Fix + and you’re done!
