If eyes are the windows to the soul, then your eyebrows are the frames to your face. Creating strong statement brows can enhance your natural features and can give you an air of inner confidence unlike any other.
Brow shaping has slowly creeped its way into the daily routine of makeup application and is now considered as vital helping to frame your face. Applying makeup without working on your brow will simply leave you looking incomplete, so get working on those brows ladies! Here’s my “how-to” of perfect brows to help you out.
Here’s what you’ll need:
-An eyebrow comb
– An angled eye-brow brush
-Brow gel, or brow powder or brow pencil – I use Illamasqua brow powers, or Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
-Clear brow gel – My personal favourite is the cult beauty classic Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
And how to achieve it:

-Start by combing out your eyebrows. Try to determine the natural directions of growth (this will vary along your brow line) and identify patches as this is where your brows will mostly need to be filled-in.
-Stray hairs are a no no, so use a tweezer to pluck away any hairs that fall outside of your natural brow line
-Next, opt for either a brow gel, a brow powder or pencil and with a fine angled brush (and a steady hand) starting at the lower inner corners of your brow, lightly draw in your preferred brow line making your way to the outer corners of your brow following your natural brow line. Applying more pressure and creating a darker line at the outer corners of your brow will add definition and accentuate your natural brow shape
-Repeat the above for the upper part of your eyebrow, once again starting lightly at the inner corner and working your way to a more dramatic outer curve
-Fill in those gaps between individual hairs as lightly as possible with an angled brush, following the direction of your natural hair growth and be sure to stay within the beautiful brow lines you created earlier
-Lastly, brush out your brow using a spoolie brush and apply a thin layer of clear brow gel to set everything in place
Tricks of the trade:
-Both pomades and powders are perfect for this job, though I personally prefer brow powders, it’s just personal preference!
-As previously mentioned, start off your brow line and infill as lightly as possible, as you don’t want to end up with clown brows! You can always go back and add depth to the colour afterwards.
